Science fiction authors and compilations

These are some of my favorite science fiction and fantasy authors, and I have a number of books by them ... but every so often, I find myself in a bookstore and I see a book by one of them, and I think "I should get that!" and then I get home, and I find out, I already got that. So this listing here, available to me on my smart phone, will keep me from buying duplicate books.

My favorite science fiction authors have a few threads in common -- stylized yet straightforward prose (for the most part); unexpected plot twists; a wide, open universe; and dry, sardonic senses of humor, sometimes with a progressive moralizing streak or two.

Missing here are a few more of my favorites, but I've either read most of them already or already have their books -- Fredric Brown, Isaac Asimov, and Michael Moorcock among them.
