IMG_1211a.jpg It wouldn't be SFO without running into someone you know! So here's Peter, heading back to Palm Springs

Steve: "When my sister Leslie asked me to fly up to housesit for the month of March, I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to fly Virgin America one last time, since April would be the last month for flights under the Virgin name.
"I was a little disappointed by the check-in process in Palm Springs -- Alaska personnel had already replaced the familiar Virgin faces. Also, the in-flight staff weren't anybody I knew from when I worked at Virgin.
"When I arrived at SFO and started seeing familiar faces, however, I became a little emotional, and choked up a little when talking with them about what working at Virgin had meant to me.
"Former co-workers escorted me downstairs to the Virgin Village area, where I saw even more familiar faces and learned more about who had left, who had transferred, who had been promoted, and so on. All this time I was getting all misty-eyed, wondering whether I had done the right thing by leaving.
"Back upstairs, my flight to Portland was delayed ... and then delayed again ... due to an overfueling situation that ultimately called for a tailswap into a new plane. The passengers were getting testy, and I was getting impatient.
"When I finally boarded the plane, after the two-hour delay, I knew I was ready to put this part of my life behind me.
"All things must pass. Goodbye, Virgin America."
